About Our Program and Unique Approach
The WEE Center is a ministry of Parkwood Baptist Church in Annandale Virginia. We offer an exceptional, Christian pre-school program for children 15 months of age to 5 years old.
We use the WEE Learn Curriculum, published by LifeWay Christian Resources, and teacher planned activities to focus on the following areas:
Personal Development including respect, self-esteem, and moral character
Independence and Self-control
The WEE Center staff provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities for children entrusted in our care. The children's natural curiosity is stimulated by teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. The program includes both individual and group experiences that encompass a variety of learning styles, and encourages creative exploration. Through hands-on activities and play, we encourage a relationship with Christ and a love for learning. Each child is encouraged to learn at his or her own pace through a program of daily activities that include:
Music with a Music Specialist
In addition to a regular daily schedule filled with activity, special events help round-out our program. These special events include:
Weekly Chapel for 3 and 4 year-olds
Monthly Chapel time with Pastor Mike for younger students
Quarterly Science lessons with a Science Teacher
Kindergarten Readiness assessments and curriculum
Quarterly gardening projects in our school garden
In–House Field Trips to broaden the children's horizons including community helpers, animals from local nature centers, story tellers and other special programs
An extended After-School Program from 2:00 - 3:00pm for potty-trained, 3 - 4 year-olds.

As a Christian preschool, the WEE Center strives to meet the individual needs of each child in an environment where children are loved, lives are enriched and God is glorified. All staff members have a personal relationship with Christ. They are loving individuals who, by example, help the children build healthy, positive attitudes toward God, self, and others.
