9:55 - 10:10am, Lower Parking Lot
To ensure everyone’s safety, follow these procedures:

  1. Your child should sit in the back, right passenger seat.

  2. Drive slowly to the lower parking area.

  3. Keep your child safely buckled in their car seat until you have completely stopped at an orange cone.

  4. Put the car in park.

  5. Remain in your car.

  6. Staff & volunteers will unbuckle your child and help them out of the car from the right side of the vehicle only.

  7. Drive slowly out of the unloading lane, once the car in front of you has moved. Do not pass a stopped car in front of you if your child is out of your car. Please wait until the car in front has finished unloading their child and is safely driving away.

If you choose not to participate in Kiss & Bye:

  1. Park in the upper parking lots only

  2. Walk your child on the sidewalk to door # 5 or to the classroom exterior doors.

County Resources

Fairfax County has many different free resources available for families with young children. Identifying a problem early in a child’s life can help a family obtain the service and support needed to promote their child’s development. The first few years of a child’s life are a sensitive period in the process of development, laying a foundation in childhood and beyond for cognitive functioning; social and emotional skills; behavior and self-regulatory capacities; and physical health. Please take advantage of these opportunities to ensure your child can participate fully in family and community activities. Please ask if you have any questions about these programs.

Infant & Toddler Connection of Fairfax-Falls Church Services (ITCH) serves children who:

  • Are under the age of three years old and

  • Live in Fairfax County or the cities of Fairfax or Falls Church and

  • Meet one or more of the following criteria:

    • Have a 25% or greater delay in at least one developmental area (cognitive, adaptive, receptive, or expressive language, social/emotional, fine motor, gross motor)

    • Have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay (examples include but are not limited to Down syndrome, hearing or visual impairment, failure to thrive, etc.)

    • Have demonstrated atypical development (examples include but are not limited to unintelligible speech, feeding concerns, etc.)

More information about typical developmental milestones can be found on the Infant and Toddler Connection of Virginia's website. If you have questions, call them at 703-246-7121.

  • Fairfax County Public School Early Childhood Identification & Services (ECID&S) Program
The ECID&S Staff will work in partnership with the families and staff to identify 2-, 3-, and 4-yearold children who are experiencing developmental delays and required special education services.

Kristen Spicer has been assigned to the WEE Center as our teacher liaison for the school year. She will be in our building every week to provide additional resources to several children. She is a great support to our staff, and we are fortunate to work with her.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s development, please ask her. She will be able to provide information to help you. Ms. Matthews only interacts with your child after receiving a request from you. You can reach out to the ECID&S program by call 703- 204-6761
